2023 Boreas Campers EOS-12: Full-Featured Off-Road Camper Trailer With Headroom
If you’re looking for a rugged trailer loaded with modern features, the Boreas Campers EOS-12 is worth a look. While modest in size, this 12-foot vehicle includes cutting-edge tech like the Garmin O.N.E. system and 500 W of Zamp solar panels. And it doesn’t forget about amenities (like a wet bath and kitchen) or durability over rough terrain (it has 20 inches of clearance).
“This is the goldilocks of the off-road, off-grid camper trailer world,” Matt Reichel, owner of Boreas Campers, said in a press release. “The unit is large enough to have a wet bath and stand inside, but small enough to truly access the backcountry. With top-of-the-line solar and battery options, you can truly get off the grid in comfort.”
EOS-12: Features
In a new walkthrough video of the 2023 EOS-12, Reichel shows off the camper’s basic layout and design. It includes a heavy-duty steel chassis and a spacious cabin. In fact, by using the pop-top roof for extra headroom, the vehicle can provide up to 6 feet, 6 inches of standing room, making it extra comfy for tall people.
Boreas Campers claims at least four people could sleep inside on the permanent queen bed and soft bench seats of the dinette. There’s also a fold-down bunk option that could accommodate a child. Road trips in the EOS-12 are workable for a family of five.
If you like the idea of traveling to far-flung places in style, the EOS-12 has plenty of features to accommodate you. From the internal LED lighting to the heated water tanks to the three-stove kitchen with fridge and freezer — this is a home on wheels. It also sports a Truma Combi heater for water and air, a 96L cooler, and electric and gas systems.
Altogether, the trailer weighs 3,750 pounds. Designed and built in Pueblo, Colo., the EOS-12 was the first off-road camper to use Garmin’s O.N.E. system, the company claimed. The Garmin system controls the vehicle’s lighting, temperature, power, navigation, and entertainment.
